Albania
Why
Albania is quickly gaining traction and for good reason. With an under-the-radar feel, everything you do seems exclusive and exciting. The low costs compete well with destinations like Greece, where you get the same Med coastline for less than half the cost.
On top of all that touristy stuff, the people of Albania are incredible people. They call themselves the “bird people” and have come out of many years of brutal history with kindness and compassion in their hearts.
Where
In Eastern Europe, just north of Greece and south of Montenegro. To the east of Albania is Kosovo and North Macedonia. Albania has a long, beautiful Mediterranean coastline just across from eastern Italy.
How
The best way to get around Albania is by driving yourself. It’s not easy to get around any other way (unless you’re into hitch hiking)!
