Cambodia

Why

Cambodia’s Khmer culture is one of the oldest in the world. Their heritage was never taken over by the Indians, Chinese, or Mongolians much like other countries in Asia.

The biggest reason to visit Cambodia is to learn about the history of the region, in part by visiting one of the most well-known historical sites in the world: Angkor Wat.

Additionally, the 1900s was an extremely turbulent time for the Khmer, who lost almost 1/3 of their entire population in war times. Learning their history can help us to avoid repeating it in the future.

Where

Located in a perfect little quadruple of fascinating countries; to the east of Thailand, south of Laos, and West of Vietnam. Cambodia is mostly flat and full of traditional farms, with the Mekong Delta in the north and the Gulf of Thailand to the South.

How

Overland adventures! Fly into Phnom Penh or Siem Reap, and explore by jeep, bus, vespa, or even ox cart! Access gorgeous islands in the south by ferry.
