Albania is quickly becoming one of the hottest travel destinations in the world. Many are choosing to explore Albania’s rugged mountains, stunning beaches, and rich history over places like Greece. Many love the fact that it is more affordable and less crowded than many of its more popular neighbors. The Albanian Riviera rivals Greece’s coastline with its crystal-clear waters, while Tirana’s vibrant café culture and colorful architecture provide a lively urban experience.
It pairs well with Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Greece, offering a unique and off-the-beaten-path Balkan adventure. Many visitors combine Albania with a trip to Greece for a mix of Mediterranean and Balkan flavors or explore the lesser-known landscapes of North Macedonia.

Albania is quickly gaining traction and for good reason. With an under-the-radar feel, everything you do seems exclusive and exciting. The low costs compete well with destinations like Greece, where you get the same Med coastline for less than half the cost.

Where
In Eastern Europe, just north of Greece and south of Montenegro. To the east of Albania is Kosovo and North Macedonia. Albania has a long, beautiful Mediterranean coastline just across from eastern Italy.
How
The best way to get around Albania is by driving yourself. It’s not easy to get around any other way (unless you’re into hitch hiking)!
