Rest, Reset, Restore

Rest, Reset, Restore

Pastures and poppies on my trip to England

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone. I hope you treated yourself and/or a loved one with extra care, extra sweets, and extra rest!

I’ve been struck by a few different illnesses over the last two weeks, first what I think was just dehydration from ending up at 7,000 ft, to allergies from visiting a stunning (but dusty) Indian palace (no pictures allowed 😕), to a sinus infection, and now a chest cold. Seems my body just needs a rest!

If you can relate, this week’s newsletter is for you. Maybe you can take an R&R vacation and I can live vicariously through you. Or maybe you need to make up for a Valentine’s Day that sort of lacked?

The choices are aplenty from forrest-bathing in the Amazon, to finding enchantment in the desert, to experiencing a fully-immersive week of wellness in the Hudson Valley, to indulging in luxurious spa experiences in Laos.  Let me guide you on a journey to find your perfect sanctuary and soul space.

Let’s get your Spring Break on the books!

The Ranch – Hudson Valley, NY

The Ranch Hudson Valley, will be opening this Spring and I have the opportunity to book your stay before reservations open to the public later this month!

The Ranch Hudson Valley continues its tradition of results-orientated wellness programming within the serenity of a historic 200-acre lakefront estate. The property is less than an hour from New York City and allows just 25 guests to share in either a 3-night, 4-day (M.-Th.) or 4-night, 5-day (Th.-M.) wellness journey each week.  This experience is crafted to include their signature mountain hikes, strength training, restorative yoga, and organic plant-based meals, all designed for a complete mental and physical reset.

Fora perks:

  • A choice of a complimentary additional massage, acupuncture or chiropractic session

Enchantment Resort – Sedona, AZ

Few cities in the US are as synonymous with wellness as Sedona, Arizona. Enchantment Resort, amid the area’s red rocks, is the ideal wellness escape. The resort is near some of the region’s best hiking and mountain biking trails, and just next door, Enchantment’s sister property (and recently renovated destination spa) Mii Amo awaits for some serious pampering.

Fora perks:

  • $100 hotel / resort credit.

  • $60 daily breakfast credit.

  • Upgrade & extended check-in/out whenever possible.

Fine print: blackout dates apply.

Rosewood Luang Prabang – Laos

Count on Rosewood to consistently knock it out of the park. Rosewood Luang Prabang, located in a hilltop forest, is a veritable bucket-list property. Spa treatments at the hotel’s signature Sense Spa incorporate Laotian traditions and locally harvested botanicals.

Farm-to-table cuisine can be enjoyed in the open-air Great House, or privately, near a waterfall. The drinks, too, are not to be missed: the Elephant Bridge Bar is the perfect spot for a craft cocktail enhanced with herbs and spices sourced from the hotel’s organic garden. And because Fora is a part of Rosewood Elite, you’ll receive extra-exclusive perks when you book with me.  Furthermore, the 3rd night is free for villas & tents!

Fora perks:

  • $125 hotel / resort credit.
  • Welcome amenities.

  • Breakfast daily.

  • Upgrade & extended check-in/out whenever possible.

Fine print: available for travel now through June 30th.

Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica – Peru

An eco-luxury lodge in front of Madre de Dios River, Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica has 35 wooden cabanas inspired in the Ese’Eja culture. 540 bird species have been inventoried in hotel grounds, deep in the rainforest.

The property offers a varied selection of à-la-carte excursions, including a visit to the Inkaterra Canopy Walkway, a bridge system at 30 meters above the ground, allowing adventurers to enjoy a privileged view of the Amazon. In 2013, Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica was selected by National Geographic Traveler magazine among the world’s 25 best eco-lodges.

Pristine, remote and yet easily accesible. Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica is adjacent to the lush Tambopata National Reserve, where the Madre de Dios river meanders through the Southern Peru rainforest region, known as the Biodiversity Capital of Peru.

A welcoming haven situated at the heart of a 17,000 hectare (42,008-acre) private ecological reserve, only a 25-minute flight from Cusco.
