Thailand

The Land of Smiles

The “Land of Smiles” is the perfect introduction for travelers to Asia. It has incredible temples and jungles in the north, city life and beaches in the south, and much more throughout. Cities like Chiang Mai are perfect for culture and nature lovers, with elephant sanctuaries and historic temples, while the islands in the Gulf of Thailand and off the West Coast have some of the best beaches in the world. Meanwhile, Bangkok is quickly becoming one of the best cities in the world for food, history, and nightlife.
Thailand has put a lot of effort into becoming a top travel destination, and travelers will love its convenience and safety. It pairs well with Cambodia, Vietnam, and Malaysia, creating a diverse and exciting Southeast Asian itinerary.

Why

Island hopping is the number one obvious choice for heading to Thailand. With the most stunning blue-water beaches, to-die-for diving, and social atmospheres out of this world, it’s really a must-visit country. But what about the rest of the country? The better question is, what doesn’t Thailand have to offer? You’ll be hard-pressed to find a happier group of people who value convenience and hospitality. With incredibly lush rolling hills, temples galore, ethical elephant sanctuaries, and some of the world’s best (and cheapest) food available on every street corner (including the 7-11s), Thailand is one of the happiest places on earth.

Where

Thailand is located in Southeast Asia, sharing borders with Laos and Cambodia to the east, Myanmar (Burma) to the west, and Malaysia to the south. It is surrounded by the Gulf of Thailand to the south and the Andaman Sea to the southwest, offering both coastal and mountainous landscapes.

How

Thailand is a very well-connected country with three major regions all easily reachable by short flights and luxury overnight buses. Ferries are most common in the southern island regions. And you’ll likely find yourself getting around short distances by moto-taxis.
